If you find yourself at the crossroads of insomnia and insanity, this is the place to channel those demons that keep you sleepless. Vivid pictures, poetry, ruminations, and confessions from the nether hours between dusk and dawn. Originally formed to celebrate the city at night, there's a strong urban theme.

Self-described as "a little community with a lot of rage," you can soak up impassioned vibes and read blistering exposes detailing sexist attitudes in the news, pop culture, and science! A must-join community if you are, or love, a feminist. (NB: the topic of whether a "man" can be a feminist is outside the scope of this spotlight, but will probably wind up on the Writer's Block.)

[TYL/TYB post.]

[There is a man who might seem strangely familiar to some of you, packing a pack of cigarettes and looking around the house this afternoon.]

I'm back here? After all this time? Congratulations, kids. I think you might have messed something big up.

(TYL/TYB post. For our new folks, this means versions of characters from ten years after or prior to their current appearance in canon will be interacting, but you aren't limited to just those. Mingle with eachother! break causality! Create paradoxes! Tag eachother, I'm not running a damn thing.)

[Celebrating 2010]

[Once, and always, there is a house. This house was not built by mortal men, nor gods of any kind disposition, and it was not built in the life span of the existing universe. Yet, it is made of things like wood, or metal, and always, to everyone, it looks like a house.

Once, and always, in a place that cannot be reached by foot, or air, or magic, in a house that existed before the concept of houses (or existing to make the concept of houses), people come. People, I use in the loosest sense, for they were men and beasts and gods all the same. They do not come by will of their own, and if they come by another will, by whimsy or plan, who knows? Perhaps the house.

Once, and always, in the darkest dreams of any being, in the memory of species aeon lost, and never yet born, in the myths and stories of the mad and foolish, and outside the universes, where nameless things squirm and reach through the void, this house exists.

Once, and only once, the people woke up together in a white, white room with only one door. This is the story of the house, the people, and nothing at all.

So open your eyes.]

Turning to photography as a creative outlet during a valiant fight with breast cancer at age 34, [info]renaissance10 survived and set up a photo contest to help raise funds for the Lavender Trust, a nonprofit that provides information and support to younger women with breast cancer. In the first two years, the competition brought in over £65,000 (that's $107,260.73 U.S.!), with entries from 130 countries last year. Renaissance10 recently joined LiveJournal to meet other passionate photographers and find supportive friends.

[This is a Truth Post. Your character cannot tell a deliberate lie or any other kind of falsehood. Unlike last time, you can just not say anything in response to questions. You just can't deliberately be dishonest.]

Oh, wow! This place is so cool!
